Goodbye Monkey Mia ...

After nearly 11 weeks our time at Monkey Mia came to a close last week ...

After working long hours and living in the one place for so long we only made it about 40km's away and made camp at Eagle Bluff for a relaxing afternoon and evening.

We then made our way out of the Shark Bay area and headed North.  After 2 windy days and nights at Gladstone Campground near Wooramel we packed up again and headed for Carnarvon.

A few locals enjoying the Gladstone Scenic Lookout view !!!

After landing in Carnarvon and checking out the caravan parks we found a nice place to stay for a few days and have a look around the area.

The Blowholes at Quobba put on a fantastic show for us ...  There are a few wonky videos on the Picasa album (Still learning how to use the camera for videos!!)

Point Quobba
Cape Cuvier

Red Bluff
Amazing what you find along the way !!!

The coastline between the Blowholes and Red Bluff is absolutely spectacular and you will find many photos if you click on slideshow or the "Travel Photos" link at the top left.

We discovered after most of the roads that we definitely needed new shockies on the car, so they have now been sent up and will be fitted next week.  Here's hoping for a lot more comfort on the dirt roads !!  Paul is also in the process of building a stone shield for the car so we can hit the dirt roads in the bus and tow the car at the same time.

So next week we are back on the road to travel further north before it gets too hot.

Stay smiling till next time :)

  2. Good to hear you're travelling well. Have you checked out Gnaraloo while you're in the area? Fabulous coral reef right up to the water's edge. Even have internet there.

  3. Great update and pictorial. Always eager to hear where you are and about your escapades.

I think we should take along a few Gnome travel-mates to drop off when we finally get away.
